What is nosework?

Nosework is a relatively new dog sport, which is loosely based on what professional detection dogs do. A single dog and handler work together. The dog must locate the hidden target odor and alert the handler. The handler rewards the dog with something that dog values, such as a tasty treat or a special toy. Nosework is a rapidly growing sport because any dog can do it – tall or small, young or old, shy or aggressive, blind, deaf, or partially paralyzed. If your dog has a nose, he can do nosework!
